National Social Welfare Assembly records, 1911-1956.

NSWA pamphlet collection. The collection contains transcripts of monthly meetings of the National Social Work Council, and its successor, the National Social Welfare Assembly, which were composed of executives of national welfare associations who met to discuss common problems and exchange information. Discussions cover topics such as financial support for voluntary social welfare activities, social conditions during the depression, impact of defense mobilization and demobilization, and the role of voluntary organizations in the face of growing public welfare programs.
